A little about me

I’m Bekka

I went to school for art & dance. It's where I learned about creating stories within my photos. It's also, strangely enough, one of the reasons I feel like riding comes easily to me.

Relationship with horses

I didn't have access to horses as a child. It wasn't until I was a teen on the cusp of adulthood that I was able to scratch this lifelong itch. I volunteered at a therapy barn, became the caretaker, & then barn manager. The rest, as they say, is history.

Photography

If horses are my first true love, photography became my second one. It started with snapshots of friends on horses in our teens. I left it alone for many years until it was a call I couldn't resist anymore. Now, I carry my camera with me everywhere. I see all of the beauty in my everyday life & I want to share that with the world.

Interesting Fact

Not only am I a photographer, I am also a horse trainer & barefoot trimmer. I've been training horses going on 20 years now. I've been a barefoot trimmer for 4. If it's has to do with horses, I want to know about it.
